ROUNDTABLE /

Inhabiting Color |
CACO x Fundación Juan March

Within the framework of the Artistic Education Week – EDART 2026 Program, the round table Inhabiting Color. The possibilities of interaction beyond perception proposes a meeting around color as a sensory and spatial experience, but above all, a contextual one.

Taking as its starting point the important exhibition You have to see it. The autonomy of color in abstract art by the Fundación Juan March in 2025, the dialogue will address color in its possibilities to transcend beyond aesthetics and beauty, understanding it as a subject and agent of humanization.

Moderated by our founder and director Romina Llaguno, it will feature the participation of one of the exhibition's curators, María Zozaya Álvarez, and artists David Magán and Rafael Díaz, both part of the exhibition.

David Magán (Madrid, 1979) is a contemporary artist whose work explores the relationship between light, color, and space. In dialogue with architecture, his artistic practice places the viewer in perceptive experiences where light and color acquire a sculptural dimension.

Rafael Díaz (El Salvador, 1972) is a doctor and visual artist recognized for his integration of art and medicine. Rafael works in collaboration with various institutions in the task of developing a body of artistic work in accompaniment and care for vulnerable groups.

EDART 2026 Program
International Arts Education Week

Promoted by UNESCO

What does it mean to be human?

Between May 18 and 24, 2026, the International Arts Education Week invites us to do something simple yet radical: to pause to look, listen, and create; to share life through art. During these days, schools, museums, and cultural spaces in different places connect through decentralized artistic proposals that encourage creation and critical thinking.

Organized by the APD and the Faculties of Education of UCM and the University of Alcalá.
With the participation of UCM, UAM, CA2M, Museo ICO, Museo de Artes Decorativas, and more.
